SYNOPSIS

Casbah of Algiers, 1930, Ali and Omar are pupils at the native school where they learn French to become good subjects and serve the colonists, but Omar has a hard head and stubbornly refuses to obey the young master who is having trouble adapting to his new position and the heat of the country.
